Great Grace
Wisdom Hunter 5/26/2016
“Now the full number of those who believed was of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.” – (Acts 4:32-33)
The resurrection of Jesus changes the way we see the world and our place within it. Through the power of the resurrection we learn that death does not have the last word but is gloriously overcome through Christ’s triumph. And as we encounter the Lord daily and are filled with his life-giving Spirit, we are invited to reorient our entire lives around this new reality. Is There No Standard?
Patrick English, AudioEvangelism.com
Do the things you see going on around you make you cringe? It should! Is there no absolute standard for morality? Many people would like us to believe this is the case, but they do not want to address the implications of such a position.
Realize if there is no absolute standard for morality then it is up to each individual to subjectively determine what is right and what is wrong. As a result, no one can truly be wrong. If there is no absolute standard then the liar cannot be wrong, and neither can the thief, the murderer, the rapist, nor the pedophile. If there is no absolute standard, then all we have is subjective chaos, and we live in an age similar to the period of the judges in the OT where “everyone did what was right in their own eyes” (Jdg. 17:6; 21:25 – NKJV).

Friend of God
Wisdom Hunters 5/11/2016
“And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.” (James 2:23)
In the passage above it says that “he was called God’s friend.” What does it mean to be a friend of God’s? It’s like a child who becomes an adult and begins to relate to their dad or mom like a friend, but they still treat them with honor and respect. So it is with your heavenly Father — in the infant stages of faith, you cannot fathom friendship until you mature through the elementary applications of: submission to God, trust in God, obedience to God, fear of God, and love of God and people.
